Rocket stove is with a L shaped design, and works with the chimney effect forcing the flames and gases to mix in the fully insulation combustion chamber. The result is cleaner and stronger burn with less fuel and less smoke compared to the traditional open three-stone fire.
Usually, the rocket stove is made up of stovetop, stove body, combustion chamber, insulation, fuel shelf, and handles and the fire power can be regulated by pushing the firewood into the chamber.
Regarding the wide scale adoption of rocket stove, we must thanks Dr. Larry Winiarski, Technical Director of Aprovecho, who began developing the rocket stove in 1980 based on a VITA stove, designed by Sam Baldwin. Till now, hundreds of thousands of stoves have been made using his technology.
Our story with Rocket stove technology. Before we meet Dean from Aprovecho in USA, we only produced the coal stove to burn the Honeycomb briquette, which also uses the rocket stove technology. SSM has the rich experience in mass production and the resource of ceramic in good insulation to produce the combustion chamber and ARC has the rich experience of rocket stove R & D and test. So, we came to a partnership to supply improved cookstove to the developing countries and won International Energy Champion 2009 of the Ashden Awards for sustainable energy together.
Now we developed fuel-efficient wood stove, charcoal stove and pellet stove. The thermal efficiency of SSM wood stove can reach 51% with pot skirt, Charcoal stove 45%.
